President, Michael Snell, had the pleasure of inducting Mark Clover and Oliver Stevenson into the club at our latest business meeting. Mark and Oliver had previously helped as volunteers and subsequently attended several meetings to learn more about the Lions.
Mark Clover’s early career was spent in film and television. However, for the last 25 years he has been running his own marketing agency, building websites and carrying out search engine optimisation. His company also manages social media and offline marketing campaigns, including print advertising and press releases.
Mark says, “I joined because I want to give something back to my local community and Billingshurst Lions is the perfect way to do it. The Club’s ethics align with my own and I am keen to help create a better society for my daughter to grow up in”.
Oliver Stevenson grew up in Rudgwick before moving to Billingshurst in 1999. He is a business analyst working in Guildford and a member of the Royal Navy Reserve based in Portsmouth.
Oliver was attracted to join the Lions because, “Our community is growing and going through rapid change which brings a number of challenges. I wanted to find a way that I could help have a positive impact on our community. Billingshurst Lions Club is an organisation full of like-minded, hard working and dedicated people that offers the chance for direct practical assistance for a wide variety of local groups and organisation. It is vital that we don’t lose our culture of voluntary service and it is important to me that my young son grows up in that environment. As such the Billingshurst Lions was the natural choice for me”.
President Michael said, “We are delighted to welcome Mark and Oliver into the Club, bringing new experiences and ideas to support the valuable work we do in the local community. We are also pleased that, following the recent Billingshurst Lions “Drop In”, we are speaking to several other men, and women, who are keen to become involved”.
